PLEASE NOTE: Ticks in the Hudson Valley are a real problem. Please plan accordingly as we will be taking walks and gathering plant material. Suggestions: wear light-colored, long pants and long sleeved shirts when outdoors; remember to do tick checks regularly; tuck your pants into long socks so that ticks don’t have easy access to the skin; wear repellent.

Sleeping bag and pillow (for those staying in the cabins at Norrie State Park)
Towel and washcloth (for those staying in the cabins at Norrie State Park)

Thick gloves for working with stinging nettle and other plants

The closest hospital is about 20-30 minutes away: Northern Dutchess Hospital Emergency, 6511 Spring Brook Ave, Rhinebeck, NY 12572
Be mindful of your safety. Please bring your medications, and tell us in advance about any allergies or conditions.

MEALS:
Most meals during the workshop will be vegetarian but please let us know as soon as possible if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate.
FOR THOSE STAYING IN THE CABINS— About Mills-Norrie State Park:
Accommodations will consist of bunkbeds / shared rooms. There are no bathrooms in the cabins. There is a bathroom with showers and toilets in the campground for both cabins and campsites. Smoking is NOT permitted in the cabins. This cabin has 2 small bedrooms each with a bunk bed, refrigerator, table w/chairs, stove and cold water sink. Parking is adjacent to cabin. Most cabins have very nice views of the Hudson River.
Directions to the Park:
Take I-87 to the Kingston exit. Take Route 199 East to Route 9G South. Follow Route 9 South through Rhinebeck and Staatsburg. The park is five miles north of Hyde Park. Check-in for camping and cabins is located at 85 Campground Hill, Staatsburg, NY. Look for the sign on Old Post Rd. showing the entrance for Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. Turn there to drive down Norrie Point Way, then follow signs for campground.
