Tara Gladden
Tara Gladden is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and educator.
Her artistic practice includes audiovisual, multimedia, conceptual, and performance strategies. Projects grow out of diverse interests related to the human experience of time, perception, and connection; to ourselves, one another, technology, and the natural world. She works both independently and in close collaboration with her artistic and life partner, David Gladden.
Select curatorial activities include working with the NYC Anarchist Art Festival from 2009-2012, co-founding John Cage Memorial Park and Chance House Artist Residency with David Gladden on 4 ½ acres of land in the remote Chesapeake Bay fishing village of Chance, MD, and current ongoing projects for the Kohl Gallery at Washington College.
Over the years, Gladden has developed courses and workshops in Voice & Music Technology, Social Practice, Environmental Art, Multimedia, Lens-based and Audiovisual Practices.
Gladden holds an MFA from Brooklyn College in Performance and Interactive Media Arts, and a BM from Boston University in Voice Performance. She is currently Director and Curator for the Kohl Gallery and teaches in the Art + Art History Department at Washington College in Chestertown, MD.
